UN report documents violations of the arms embargo on Libya by Erik Prince
On 21 February, Declan Walsh of the The New York Times revealed in an article the publication by the UN of a report incriminating Erik Prince, former head of the Blackwater private military company, of his violations of the UN arms embargo on Libya as a result of his activities in the spring of 2019. It has been documented that Prince has deployed a team of mercenaries, weapons and aircrafts to support General Haftar’s campaign to overtake Tripoli in April 2019. Prince has refused to cooperate with the UN Panel of Experts conducting the investigation and has denied the accusations.
