Drone war in Libya highlights the proxy dimension of the Libyan conflict, India Times reports
In an article published on 30 September, the economic edition of India Time analyses the use of drones in the fighting between Libya’s rival factions which erupted in April 2019. As the confrontation between forces aligned with the Government of National Accord (GNA) and forces aligned with the Libyan National Army (LNA) and Khalifa Haftar reached a stalemate, both sides engaged in an air war and turned to sophisticated weaponry, India Times notes. The article highlights how the proxy dimension of conflict has consequently been reinforced by the fact that such weaponry is supplied by foreign backers.
