The vulnerability of Libya's proposed elections

Libya-Analysis Managing Director Rhiannon Smith recently spoke to the Australian ABC program ‘The World” about the vulnerability of the proposed elections given Libya’s current instability. In the interview, Smith explains "Elections at this stage are very technically difficult to hold and are likely to create more problems.  Ultimately, what you have now is a Libya that is insecure, unstable, and divided. In that scenario, elections are only going to make it worse."

In the wake of Khalifa Haftar’s unexplained absence for two weeks in late April, Smith also explores potential scenarios should there be a vacuum in the senior leadership of the Libyan National Army and what effect they may have on national reconciliation efforts.
