Turning the Tide: How Turkey Won the War for Tripoli

On 10 November, founder of Libya Analysis LLC Jason Pack and Libya scholar Wolfgang Pusztai published with The Middle East Institute (MEEI) the result of their latest collaboration. Entitled ‘Turning the Tide: How Turkey Won the War for Tripoli’, their research explores the military, logistical, and technological aspects of the war which opposed factions aligned with the Tripoli-based Governement of National Accord (GNA) and factions aligned with Eastern-based General Haftar and the so-called Libyan National Army (LNA) for the control of Tripoli between April 2019 and June 2020. In their demonstration, the two authors identify and analyse the unique aspect of this episode of war in Libya’s history. And in doing so, they put forward core issues to take into consideration for Libya’s future, and more globally for the appreciation of future conflicts.Click here to consult the PDF version.
