Blackwater founder claims he can 'solve' Libya's migrant crisis

Rhiannon Smith spoke to Radio Sputnik to discuss reports that Erik Prince, the founder of notorious private security firm Blackwater, is pitching for his new firm, Frontiers Services Group, to intervene in the migrant crisis in Libya. Smith discusses the many flaws in such a plan, questioning the practical, logistical and ethical basis of Prince's claims that his firm could, "create a Libyan border police along the southern border,” and that his approach would be more “humane and professional” than current programmes.  She also highlights that discussion around Prince's firm is redundant anyway as Libya is a sovereign country and it is highly unlikely that any of Libya's competing political powers would give the green light to such a notorious actor to intervene.Click here to listen to the interview, or listen below.
