Fragile political advances in Libya

On 22 January, in an article published by the Institute for Security Studies (ISS), Peter Fabricius highlights the fragility of the political advances made in Libya under the auspices of the UN. In the line of many other Libya analysts, among which Libya-Analysis LLC, Fabricius warns against the many red flags of the Libyan file, such as the vague conditions of the Libyan National Army (LNA) and Government of National Accord (GNA) ceasefire, the ever growing influence of foreign actors attempting to develop alternative political dialogues and the persisting hold of militias over Libya’s security situation. Click here to read the full article.
