Founder of Libya-Analysis Jason Pack contributed to an article by Alejandro Tapia published with Chilean newspaper La Tercera on 8 April. Pack comments on the tensions in Tripoli, noting that General Haftar’s offensive on Tripoli highlights his disdain for the diplomatic initiatives that had been pushed forwards over the course of the past months by national, regional and international actors. However, for Pack, what General Haftar has engaged in is truly a media war, knowing that betting on the military solution to imposer himself as Libya’s strongman would not necessarily lead to success.
