On 24 October, the Tripoli National Oil Company (NOC) organized an oil conference in the Eastern city of Benghazi, Reuters reported. The "Benghazi Oil and Gas Exhibition and Forum was the first international business conference held in Benghazi since 2014 and the event represents a significant step in mending the divisions between Western and Eastern Libya and their rival institutions. Tensions had reached a high last June as Eastern General Haftar attempted to seize control of oil infrastructure in Eastern Libya. The Tripoli based NOC stands as the sole legitimate institution in charge of oil infrastructure in the country, however there are persisting complaints in Eastern Libya about resource distribution.Click here to read the full report.
