Federalism, The Oil Curse, Lustration, and Lack of Sovereignty

In a wide ranging radio interview with South African radio, I tackled many of the hot-button issues facing Libya. The segment on Voice of the Cape starts at 1:00 and is arguably the most interesting and highest quality radio interview I've done in years. This is because my interlocutor, Shafiq Morton, is one of the most knowledgeable and eloquent personalities in radio and has a deep knowledge of Libya having covered the 2011 Uprisings from inside Libya.   In this interview, we tackle issues of Federalism, how Libya's oil wealth acts as a curse, why nation building efforts post-Qadhafi have failed, and why the hope that Arab Spring might lead within years to democratic governance was a fantasy.   Please give it a listen by clicking here.
