On 15 January, the Atlantic Council published an article by Rose Keravuori and Maureen Farrell, titled ‘The US is reengaging with Libya—and it’s the right call'. The authors argue that after years of disengagement with Libya, the US now has a ‘narrow—but real—opportunity’ to reset conditions in the country by ‘combining carefully calibrated security engagement with strategic investment.’ They add that taking such opportunity is ‘urgent, especially as Russia and other foreign powers seek to cement their influence over the southern Mediterranean’s political future.’
