On 20 July, Chatham House published an analysis by Senior Research Fellow Tim Eaton, titled ‘Why US plans for power-sharing in Libya will not work’. Looking at recent efforts by Trump advisor Massad Boulos to break through Libya’s political deadlock, as well as anti-corruption reports that reveal the problems of Libya’s fragmented state, Eaton argues that without improving governance, any attempts to reunify the country are limited at best.
