On 18 August, non-profit news platform Inkstick published an article by Sophia Potsi and Dimitra Margariti titled ‘As Boats Sail from Libya, Greece Swings Right on Migration'. The article looks at the notoriously deadly but increasingly common migration passage from Libya to southern Greece, arguing that as part of a move towards stricter migration controls and hardline anti-migrant policies, the EU appears to be preparing to renew engagement with Libya under new terms, potentially including ‘enormous sums of money for Libya’.
