MEMO: 'Is Libya’s UN-facilitated political process stalling again?'

On 23 October, Middle East Monitor (MEMO) published an article by Dr Mustafa Fetouri titled ‘Is Libya’s UN-facilitated political process stalling again?’. Dr Fetouri notes the lack of progress in UNSMIL’s political roadmap, arguing that its stalled implementation ‘continues to expose the deep divisions among the country’s rival authorities… highlighting the persistent challenge of translating UN plans into tangible progress on the ground.’ He concludes that the political roadmap remains ‘at risk of unravelling under the combined weight of internal rivalries, foreign interference, and the UNSC’s reluctance to enforce accountability.’
