RCD: 'Russia’s Su-57 Export to Algeria Likely Required Libya'

On 5 December, RealClearDefense (RCD) published a report by Matt Quan titled ‘Russia’s Su-57 Export to Algeria Likely Required Libya’. The report looks at the increased importance of Libya and Algeria to Russian geopolitics, with a focus on Libya’s ‘likely’ involvement in the delivery of two Sukhoi Su-57 stealth fighters to Russia’s first export customer, presumed to be Algeria. According to the report, deliveries to Algeria require the use of Libyan airbases like Khadim or Al Qardabiyah to support aerial refueling and cover enroute or landing.
